At Benton Foundry, Inc., the project involved the successful production of a water-jacketed manifold for specialized applications in the marine industry. Capabilities applied in this project included core making, core assembly, chaplets, green sand molding, gray iron casting, and robotic grinding/finishing. To support these processes, advanced equipment in the Core, Molding, and Finishing departments were utilized, ensuring consistency and precision in every step of manufacturing.

The finished manifold measured 4 x 10 x 20 inches, with tightest tolerances of ±0.030 inches. It was produced using Class 30A Gray Iron (ASTM A48) and achieved a material finish of 500 to 600 rms. During production, automated controls and testing with complete traceability were performed to maintain strict quality standards.

Production was completed in line with customer volume requirements, with a delivery turnaround of 6 weeks to multiple domestic locations. All manufacturing steps met the required ASTM A48 standards, ensuring compliance and reliability. To find out more about how we can help with your requirements, contact us today.
